The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post is designed to give youth opportunities to serve their community, experience different areas of local law enforcement, and to develop skills related to leadership and discipline. The Explorer Post also promotes positive interactions between youth and law enforcement as well as provides constructive, supervised activities for its members.

The Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post encourages those members who are in school to maintain good grades and to pursue higher education. The Explorer Post is open to people who are between the ages of 14 and 20 and are interested in learning about law enforcement.
