OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to accept public comment on Nonconforming Code Update to the Critical Areas Ordinance on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 7 p.m. View more detailed information about the proposals, how to comment, and the full text of the proposed ordinance on the Development Code Amendment webpage. 

A video conference option will be available in addition to in-person attendance to ensure those wishing to provide testimony have every option available.

Background: 
The purpose of the Nonconforming Code chapter is to establish provisions for developing and redeveloping existing uses, structures, and lots affected by critical areas that do not conform to the Critical Areas Ordinance (Title 24). The proposed amendments would expand administrative review and approval of small-scale projects associated with existing nonconforming uses, structures, and lots that have minimal to no impact on the functional performance of a critical area buffer. This is item A-27 on the Official Development Code Docket.
