OLYMPIA – County crews will close the Yelm Rainier Tenino Trail between Manke Rd. SE and Tipsoo Dr. SE from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 11, 2022 for maintenance work. To keep the area safe during work hours, access to the trail will be blocked and no detour will be available.

The one-day closure is necessary to complete maintenance work which will improve worn sections of the paved trail. Work is scheduled to be completed in advance of the July 16-17, 2022 Seattle to Portland (STP) bike ride. The event brings thousands of riders to Thurston County trails annually but has not been held since 2019 due to the pandemic.

Trail maintenance schedules are subject to change as the work is weather dependent. Trail closure updates can be found online on the Thurston County Public Works Travel Impacts Map.
