Thurston Commissioners Seek Volunteers to Serve the County
Members needed for boards and commissions

OLYMPIA - Thurston County Commissioners invite county residents to become part of county government. People can do that by volunteering their time to serve on one of the many boards, commissions and advisory committees that work for the county.

There are more than a dozen advisory bodies who provide advice, guidance and other services to the county through a wide variety of programs. The groups range from the Historic Commission to the Water Conservancy Board, Storm and Surface Water Advisory Board, Solid Waste Advisory Committee, Pest & Vegetation Management Advisory Committee and many others. There are frequent openings on these advisory bodies and interested persons are encouraged to apply.

County Commission Chair Sandra Romero says the volunteers who serve are very much appreciated. "The work of these boards and commissions is very important to all of us who reside here. The work that they do is very valuable in keeping the county a great place to live, work, recreate and raise a family."

A complete list of advisory bodies and vacancies can be found under the "Boards and Commissions" tab on the County Commissioner's page on the Thurston County web site.
