The Level Three Evacuation in the Residential Area has been Lifted
There are no restrictions to enter the residential areas

​OLYMPIA – Authorities have lifted the evacuation requirements for the residential area in the Scatter Creek Brush Fire.

The reunification site and shelter at the Rochester LDS Church has been closed.

Current Status:
Fire crews are continuing to extinguish fires and are assessing the burn area to determine actual acreage burned and lost structures. The structures include two primary residence, one commercial building, one unoccupied historical residence, one historical barn. The fire is 100% contained within the fire lines with an estimated 485 acres burned. Currently, the cause of the fire is unknown.

Approximately 200 personnel working on the fire including fire crews, law enforcement, road crews, power crews, and incident command. The teams are assessing hazards including trees, the number of affected structures, burnt material, downed power lines, runoff, and hazardous materials.

Janet Pearce, Department of Natural Resources Communications Manager said, "We want to remind citizens to pay attention to their surroundings and be cautious of any outdoor activities." She said, "Even a lawnmower can start a fire."
