OLYMPIA –Thurston County is working on updating the codes that regulate building and development on shorelines within the County’s jurisdiction. Officials are encouraging interested community members to participate in the process and have already hosted a number of meetings.
The next meeting will be on January 30, 2018 in Building 1, Room 152 of the Thurston County Courthouse Complex, at 2000 Lakeridge Dr. SW in Olympia.

The Shoreline Master Program currently being used by the County has been in place since 1990. New rules from Washington’s shoreline regulatory body, Department of Ecology (DOE), have prompted updates to shoreline programs in counties throughout the state, including Thurston County.
