Commissioners to Receive Public Comments on Thurston Conservation District Rates and Charges
Public hearing to take place on Tuesday, September 25, at 5:30 p.m.

OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 25, at 5:30 p.m. at the Courthouse, Building 2, Room 280, to receive public comments on the proposed rates and charges for the Thurston Conservation District.

What: Public Hearing on Thurston Conservation District’s Proposed Rates and Charges
When: Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: Thurston County Courthouse, 2000 Lakeridge Dr SW, Olympia, Building 1, Room 280

In 2017 the Thurston Conservation District ended a 10-year funding cycle. They did not receive funding for 2018 but had enough surplus to cover the year’s expenses and continue programs. The Thurston Conservation District is requesting the Commissioners reinstate its funding stream through a new rate schedule for 2019 – 2023.

The proposed rates schedule has separate land use categories and a cap of $5 per year. In some instances, citizens may see a decrease on their 2019 tax statement from their 2017 tax statement.
