Public Hearing Set on Proposed 2019 Salaries for Elected Officials
Members of the public are invited to comment on proposed 2019 salaries for Elected Officials

​OLYMPIA – The Thurston County Citizens' Commission on Salaries for Elected Officials will hold a public hearing on Monday, October 29, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. to accept public comment on the proposed 2019 salaries for Elected Officials.

Where: Thurston County Courthouse, Building One, Room 152, at 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW in Olympia, 98502

The proposed 2019 salary for the County Commissioners, Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Coroner, and Treasurer is $10,163 per month. The proposed 2019 salary for the Prosecuting Attorney is $14,381 per month, and the proposed 2019 salary for the Sheriff is $12,180 per month.

Background:

The Thurston County Citizens' Commission on Salaries for Elected Officials was formed in 2001 pursuant to Chapter 36.17 RCW. The Commission sets the salaries for the County Commissioners and recommends to the Board of County Commissioners the salaries for the elected Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Coroner, Prosecuting Attorney, Sheriff, and Treasurer. The Commission meets annually to review, adopt, and recommend the salaries for these Elected Officials.

The public may submit written comments in lieu of testimony at the hearing. Written comments can be emailed to Ruth Elder, Clerk of the Commission, at ruth.elder@co.thurston.wa.us, or mailed to:

The deadline for written comments to be submitted is 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018. The Thurston County Citizens' Commission on Salaries for Elected Officials may choose to act on the 2019 salaries for the County Commissioners and to recommend 2019 salaries for the other seven Elected Officials at the end of the October 29, 2018, public hearing, or they may decide to act at a subsequent meeting.
