October 27 Workshop: Stormwater Maintenance for Contractors
Learn what to look for when evaluating a potential maintenance project and

OLYMPIA – Contractors who inspect and maintain stormwater ponds, filters, storm drains and other types of stormwater facilities for neighborhoods and commercial buildings are invited to a free workshop on October 27. The workshop is co-hosted by Thurston County and the cities of Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater. The workshop will show contractors what problems to look for, how to fix them, and how to file the correct paperwork.

When: Saturday, October 27, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants will learn what is required by regulation, what vegetation and other materials are recommended by inspectors, and what incorrect repairs could lead to code violations.

The workshop includes on-site field visits to commercial stormwater facilities for hands-on question-and-answer sessions.

Contractors who complete the workshop may have their business added to Thurston County's online list of service providers where potential customers can see it.
