Grab some grub and gab with Thurston County commissioners at their annual breakfast at the Thurston County Fair.The public is invited to the annual free breakfast sponsored by the commissioners. This year's breakfast is from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 4 and is free with a paid admission to the fairgrounds. The breakfast area is located on the east side of Heritage Hall near the Gazebo and the meal is paid for by the commissioners who serve it with help from county staff. -30-
Thurston County Commission Chair Cathy Wolfe says the annual breakfast is a fun event for the family. "We enjoy serving up the meals and talking with the folks who drop by. It's a great way to start your day before seeing all of the great features of the fair." The 2012 Thurston County Fair runs from Wednesday, August 1 through Sunday, August 5. The fair features more than 130 vendors including food, crafts, informational and commercial booths as well as the carnival midway and lots of entertainment.
Tickets for the Thurston County Fair are $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors, $5.00 for youth and free for those five and under. On One-Buck-Wednesday, August 1, admission for all ages is only $1.00 with a donation of non-perishable food (per person) to benefit Thurston County Food Banks.
