Hope, Help Just a Phone Call Away for Abused Children, Stressed Parents

OLYMPIA - A recent wave of South Sound court cases involving child abuse and neglect have prompted Thurston County leaders and children's advocates to get the word out that along with help for abused children, there is help for stressed parents in Thurston County who are struggling and are in crisis.

"I think the community is on edge these days with some court cases involving child abuse making headlines recently," said county Commissioner Sandra Romero. "There are educators, doctors, coaches, and parents all wondering--What can I do? Where do I turn for help? The good news is that Thurston County has a network of organizations and really amazing people who are here to help, and they're just a phone call away. We want people to know that when we work together and utilize these resources, we can prevent child abuse in our community."
