Great Plants, Great Prices May 17 at Master Gardeners Annual Plant Sale
Garden art and accessories available alongside compost demonstrations

This Saturday, you can get your green thumb and save some green when you come to 23rd annual Master Gardeners Plant Sale hosted by the WSU Thurston County Extension program. All of the proceeds from the annual plant sale go to support the WSU Thurston County Extension Master Gardener program and the Thurston County Master Recycler Composter program.

The sale features a wide variety of plants, including tested Great Plant Picks, perennials, annuals, shrubs, trees, grasses, native plants, and herb and vegetable starts. Succulent wall planters, hypertufa planters, plant stakes, trellises, garden art and worms for starting your own worm bin will also be for sale.

The annual plant sale is an important source of funding for community programs that are put on by the resident experts at the WSU Thurston County Extension office. This includes maintenance of three demonstration gardens, and numerous workshops and classes for youth and adults that you can attend for free throughout Thurston County all year round.

Along with the sale, the Dirt Works Demonstration Garden is open to the public throughout the day. The Master Recycler Composter volunteers will also be demonstrating yard waste and worm composting. These workshops will be held inside the Dirt Works gazebo:
  • Yard Waste – 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • Worm Bins – 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
