Thurston County Public Works staffers invite the public to attend an open house on Tuesday, June 3 to learn more about the design and upcoming construction of a new bridge at the L-4 Salmon Creek crossing on Littlerock Road SW.
Thurston County Public Works staffers opened the bidding process for the L-4 Salmon Creek Bridge today and expect to begin the construction process with demolition of the old bridge in August. The construction of the new bridge at the L-4 Salmon Creek crossing is expected to be complete by the end of 2014.
The L-4 Salmon Creek Bridge on Littlerock Road SW located between 110th Avenue SW and 93rd Avenue SW was first closed on Monday, January 27 after structural deficiencies were discovered. In March, a modular temporary bridge structure called a Bailey bridge was installed at the L-4 Bridge crossing on Littlerock Road SW. With the help of crews from the Washington State Department of Transportation, the Bailey bridge opened Saturday, March 22 and has allowed passenger vehicles, buses and emergency vehicles to travel northbound and southbound using a single alternating lane. Heavy trucks continue to use the detour route. WHAT:Open House on L-4 Salmon Creek Bridge Construction ProjectWHEN:
