February 2015 Special Election Random Audit Check
Public invited to observe hand count audit on Feb. 12

TUMWATER, WA – Thurston County Auditor Mary Hall invites the public to attend and observe the hand counting of ballots in three randomly selected precincts, known as a "random audit check," of the February 10, 2015 Special Election. This check will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 12 at the Ballot Processing Center, located at 2905 29th Ave. SW, Suite E in Tumwater, 98512.

A random audit check verifies an accurate count by the tabulating machines.

"Even though we use state-of-the-art electronic tabulators, it's important to do these hand counts in every election," said Thurston County Auditor Mary Hall. "It's vital in elections to make sure that each vote is counted accurately, and we welcome the public to participate in the process."

The February 10 Special Election, which takes place in the Yelm and Tenino school districts, will be certified on Tuesday, February 24, 2015.
