The Assessor mailed 2021 assessment notices for real property, personal property and new construction valuations on August 23, 2021. To appeal your assessment, you must submit your completed Petition to the Board of Equalization by 5 pm on the deadline: Friday, October 22, 2021.
For the 2021 filing period, the Board of Equalization will continue to accept online submissions of completed Petition forms through the Submit NEW Petition link on our website. If you choose to mail your Petition through the US Postal Service, send it to Thurston County Board of Equalization, 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW, Olympia, WA 98502. Your submission must be postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service on or before 5 pm on the deadline date of October 22, 2021.
If you wish to deliver your completed Petition forms in person or send them via UPS or Fed Ex, our office location is 929 Lakeridge Drive SW, Room 117, Olympia, WA 98502. There are drop boxes to deposit your submission outside the BOE office (Building 4, Room 117), by the back entrance outside of Building 4 (929 Lakeridge Drive SW), or at the main courthouse complex (2000 Lakeridge Dr. SW). Taxpayers must submit a separate Petition form for each tax parcel. Customer service is available by appointment only through September 24, 2021. Beginning September 27, 2021, the BOE office will have designated office hours for walk-in customers on Mondays from 11 am to 2 pm, and Fridays from 9 am to 12 pm. In accordance with the Thurston County Health Officer's masking directive, masks will be required for all persons seeking service in person, regardless of vaccination status.
