Environmental Health Provides Free Water Testing for Flood Effected Wells

OLYMPIA – Thurston County Environmental Health will provide free water testing for flood effected wells beginning Tuesday, January 18. Testing consists of analyzing a water sample for the presence of E. Coli, an indicator that water may be contaminated flood water, animal waste, or sewage.

Beginning Tuesday, people can pick up special water sample bottles and instructions at several locations throughout Thurston County. Locations and instructions are available at: http://ow.ly/rfC850HvnlK. People who have questions about their water quality or testing procedures can call (360) 867-2673.

What: Free Water Testing for Flood Effected Wells
Where: Pick up water sample bottles and instructions at Rochester Organization of Families, Rainier Town Hall, Tenino City Hall, Yelm Public Works, Public Health and Social Services, or Building 1 of the Thurston County Courthouse Complex.
When: Tuesday, January 18, 2022 through Thursday, February 3, 2022

Those who sign up for TC Alert have the option to receive information on wireless device, by email, by landline telephone, or by all three.
 
Residents can receive specific notifications based on where they live, or what types of information they are interested in. Currently, subscribers can opt-in to river notifications as well as local alerts from public safety agencies warning of life-threatening events and emergencies.
