OLYMPIA – Beginning Monday, August 30, the Thurston County Building and Development Center (BDC) is modifying operational hours due to unforeseen staffing circumstances. The BDC will operate under restricted hours for two weeks and expects to return to its regular operation hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm on Monday, September 13. Should the modified schedule need to be extended, the county will notify residents through the BDC website and Thurston County social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter).

​OLYMPIA – Thurston County Public Health and Social Services is reporting a toxic algae bloom at Lake Lawrence. Lab results show toxin levels of microcystin at the sample site are 15 ug/L. The state advisory level for microcystin is 8.0 ug/L. Microcystin is a liver toxin and possible human carcinogen.
