CPED is the Community Planning & Economic Development Department. We work with the county's elected officials and volunteer advisory groups to prepare for the county's long-term economic stability, and population growth. The divisions in this department include Community Development (Building & Planning Permits), Community Planning, Natural Resource Program, Fairgrounds & Event Center, and Washington State University's Thurston County Extension.
