Thurston County offices will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

NEW HOURS: Planning and building services will be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-1:00 PM.

We issue building and land-use permits for properties located in unincorporated Thurston County. To learn more about the permitting process, click the “Plan Your Project” link below.

Intake appointments are required for applicants submitting a Type II or Type III application, applications requiring SEPA review, or those that require a Pre-submission Conference. For details and scheduling, click the “BDC Digest” link below.

COUNTY STAFF DON'T CALL OR EMAIL ASKING FOR MONEY. We use the U.S. Postal service to mail invoices. Please don't provide your financial information to anyone who calls or emails you claiming to be from the County. If you are doing business with the County, please contact us before making a payment.
