Master Recycler Composter Program

The Master Recycler Composters of Thurston County is a volunteer service program provided by Thurston County and Washington State University Extension. The County trains Master Recycler Composter (MRC) volunteers to become community educators. Low-Waste Events & Borrow-A-Bin Program

Make your next event as waste-free as possible. Whether it’s a family reunion, community potluck, music festival, sporting event, or company picnic, a near waste-free event is possible! The goal is to divert as much material from the landfill as possible. Use our planning checklist, and borrow free recycling and garbage bins for your next event. Washington State law requires recycling at official gatherings and sport facilities by vendors who sell beverages in single-use aluminum, glass, or plastic bottles or cans.
