SWAC 2024 Recruitment
The Thurston County Solid Waste Advisory Committee is Recruiting a Representative!This is an exciting time to be a member of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC)! Input is needed on major capital improvement projects at the Waste and Recovery Center in Lacey and at the Rainier and Rochester drop-box facilities. Members of the committee regularly provide their perspectives on solid waste issues to the Board of County Commissioners and assist in the development of solid waste programs and policies. The SWAC is actively recruiting a resident representative. If you have a background or interest in the management of garbage and recycling and how it affects local residents, businesses, and the natural environment, please apply.
To qualify as a resident representative, you must live in unincorporated Thurston County in Commissioner District #1, 2, 4, or 5. Please review the map (found above) or visit this link to find your Commissioner District.
