WARNING: Phone scams target the Thurston County community.
If you receive contact from someone claiming to represent Thurston County Superior Court who states you must pay to avoid a warrant or arrest, they are not court staff or from the sheriff’s office. Court staff will never ask members of the community for money or confidential information like Social Security numbers or bank account information over the phone, email, or mail. If you receive a phone, call hang up immediately. Anyone who receives a scam call should report the incident to law enforcement’s non-emergency line.

Due to increasing caseloads and budget reductions, Thurston County Family & Juvenile Court will no longer conduct settlement conferences. All settlement conferences scheduled in or after February 2026 have been cancelled. To support these operational changes, the court has adopted emergency rules amending the following local court rules, effective February 2, 2026:
- LCR 87 – Alternative Dispute Resolution
- LSPR 94.03D – Alternative Dispute Resolution and Pretrial Conferences
- LSPR 94.03E – Trials
- LSPR 94.12 – Collaborative Law Process
- LJuCR 4 – Pretrial Conferences for Dependency and Termination Cases

The Court expects these emergency rules to be readopted every 90 days per GR 7(f) and become permanent with the next annual update of its local court rules.

Covid-19 and Other Public Health Topics
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the Superior Court modified operations based on input from local public health. The Court continues to receive regular updates from public health. Based on current conditions, neither social distancing nor the wearing of facial coverings is required at our courthouses. The Court encourages individuals to be aware of their circumstances and make individual decisions regarding protecting their health. Remote participation continues to be available for many types of court proceedings and jury service deferrals may be requested based on individual or household health circumstances.
