Thurston County holds our annual foreclosure tax sale via the internet facilitated by Bid4Assets

Foreclosure, first-time homebuyers, and current homeowners assistance is available by calling 877-894-4663 or visiting their website at https://washingtonhaf.org/.

Real property with a tax year three (3) or more years delinquent is subject to foreclosure. To redeem the property after foreclosure proceedings begin, 2023 and prior years' taxes, interest, penalties, and foreclosure costs must be paid (RCW 84.64).

A minimum bid will be solicited for each property. This bid must include all taxes, interest, penalties and foreclosure costs. The auction is electronic and full payment is due according to the terms noted at the bid web site.

The successful bidder will receive a Treasurer's Deed without any expressed or implied warranty. Thurston County does not warrant any property suitable for any use, nor do they make any claims regarding easements, covenants or restrictions. All parcels are sold "as is" and all sales are final. Potential purchasers should seek the advice of a real estate attorney if additional information is needed.

Thurston County does not issue Tax Lien Certificates as Washington state is not a Tax Lien state.

​The 2026 Foreclosure sale will be held January 11-12, 2027, and will continue until properties are sold or the Treasurer closes the auction.
