Thurston County, Washington

Community Planning and Economic Development

The Nisqually Sub Area Plan guides county government policies and plans for accommodating future development in the Nisqually area over the next 20 years. There is a Current Nisqually Subarea Plan, but a project to update the plan is underway now. The Nisqually Sub Area Plan is part of the county's comprehensive plan.

Community Meeting Scheduled March 15, 2024 from 9:00am-Noon! 

Thurston County Community Planning will be facilitating a community meeting co-hosted by the Nisqually River Council as a part of public outreach for the Nisqually Subarea Plan Update on March 15, 2024 from 9:00am-12:00pm at the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge at the following address:
